Richard Schipul

I grew up in Trumbull, where I started a lawn maintenance business at the age of 12, maintaining 22 lawns after school, track practice and weekends. I received an Associates Degree in Horticulture from SUNY Farmingdale and a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture from SUNY Syracuse. I’m one of 3 Nationally Certified Landscape Designers in the state and was admitted as a Fellow into the Association of Professional Landscape Designers in 2018. I moved to New Milford in 1995 where my wife and I raised our two children. I’m currently a member of the New Milford Riverfront Committee, I’ve held various positions and continue to sit on the board of The Association of Professional Landscape Designers Connecticut Chapter for over a decade. I am also a past President and sit on the board of The Mad Gardeners since 2002. In my free time I enjoy working around my property, water skiing/barefooting, watching Syracuse and South Kent Prep Basketball and exploring the Litchfield Hills.
